A very real story

Years ago I read a nice short story written by Julio Cortazar called "A Very Real Story". It is dedicated to the signs and warnings we recieve in our everyday life and our inability to understand them. When something interesting and almost impossible occure we can't accept it as something happening just here and now, without a story behind and a future infront. This morning I woke up from a dream in which I was meditating, seeing and feeling myself as somebody absolutely not connected to the false side of reality. After that dream I felt very well, washed the dishes, drank my coffee, thinking should I turn my subconcious experience into something big and dramatic, should I see my dream like a step forward to something. Well no, not after remembering Cortazar's story :)

A Very Real Story – Julio Cortazar
It happened that a gentleman dropped his glasses on the floor, which they hit the tiles, made a terrible noise. The gentleman stoops down to pick them up, very dejected, as the lenses are very expensive, but he discovers with astonishment – that by some miracle he hasn’t broken them.
Now this gentleman feels profoundly thankful and understands that what has happened amounts to a friendly warning, in such a way that he walks down to an optician’s shop and immediately acquires a leather glasses case, padded and double – protected, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of, etc. An hour later the case falls, and stooping down to recover it without any great anxiety, he discovers that the glasses are in smithereens. It takes this gentleman a while to understand that the designs of providence are inscrutable, and that in reality the miracle has just now occurred.

mess often turns out to be a very logical way of existing

The funny thing about mirrors is that even if you turn them upside down, you'll still be reflected with a head on the top of a body.

literalism and a picture of Alek
